A word from our headline sponsor

At Morrisons, supporting British farming is important to our customers and it’s important to us; customers consistently vote backing British farmers as #2 in our annual survey of issues that matter most to them.

This year more than ever as we have faced huge challenges feeding the nation during the Covid-19 pandemic, British farmers have once again come to the fore. Thank you to every farmer who has helped keep food flowing, growing and rearing fantastic British products for our customers and their families. Sourcing directly from thousands of farming businesses, we know that family businesses are at the heart of British agriculture. We rely on the strong relationships we have with these businesses, many of whom have been with us for generations. These family farming businesses help us provide 100% British fresh meat, milk and eggs to our customers all year round. Given this heritage and the uniquely direct relationship we have with British farmers as a processor and retailer, means we understand the importance of supporting family farming businesses now and into the future. In 2019, we opened £2 million of our apprenticeship levy sharing funding to agricultural apprentices, and also have a networking and mentoring programme which we run for younger family members of our direct suppliers. These programmes allow talented young farmers to come together to share knowledge and experiences with each other. We are therefore proud to sponsor the Family Farming Business of the Year at the British Farming Awards. Congratulations to all those who were shortlisted and to the winning Family Farming Business.
